The island of Skopelos is a magical place that until not very long ago had gone unnoticed!
Sometime in 2008 after the film “Mamma Mia” was out in the movie theatres around the world, Skopelos became one of those islands that everyone wanted to visit, explore and enjoy.
Travellers still ask where the island of “Kalokeri” is…
And since then, the island that was mostly visited by Greeks has the pleasure of welcoming visitors of all over the world.
Skopelos together with the neighbouring island of Skiathos were the locations that most parts of the “Mamma Mia” movie were filmed and both became more popular destinations after the movie.
Skopelos has so much to offer to its visitors. A beautiful landscape, rich nature, exquisite remote beaches and lots of history and traditions!
Ideal destination during Spring, Summer and Autumn especially for those seeking to experience Greece!
The travel scene on the island is relaxed and as it should be. No fancy names part of international night club chains, no sushi places. Skopelos is a real Greek island.
You can reach Skopelos from Athens by car, driving to Volos and from Volos taking the ferry across or you can fly from Athens or from any European destination to Skiathos and from there taking the ferry to Skopelos.
