Don’t be surprised. It is so very true. The region of Epirus is by far an all-seasons destination, and unquestionably its coast and shoreline host, not one, not two, but an unlimited number of stunning beaches—a heaven on earth for sea lovers. And we are not exaggerating.
Sadly, if you decide to go online and do research, you will come across Wikipedia. This is where the region is described as rugged and mountainous. Wikipedia is a source of information that many of us seem to pay attention to and value its contents.

Of course, Epirus has rugged and mountainous areas, and they are majestic and breathtaking. Epirus, though, has rivers, lakes, gorges, and, most importantly, some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece.
The Region of Epirus is in the Northwest part of Greece, bordering the Ionian Sea and Albania to the west and north, respectively, and the rest of Greece to the south and east. Admirers and frequent visitors to Corfu, Lefkada, or Paxoi most probably have already taken a trip to Parga, which is in Epirus.
Travelers to Lefkada have probably landed at the airport of Aktio, which is in Preveza, and Preveza is indeed in Epirus. A significant percentage of road trip aficionados will disembark at the Igoumenitsa port if they visit Greece after visiting Italy. Igoumenitsa is in Epirus.
So yes, Epirus or Ipeiros, as known to all Greeks, is the region that has it all, and you may have visited it without even knowing it. But let’s get back on track and focus on the topic.
