DAY 2 – Saturday: Let Your Mind Travel in Time
No visit to Athens would be complete without exploring the ancient sights that made the city famous.
On Saturday, we recommend starting early and heading to the Acropolis.
The hill that towers over the city is home to some of the most iconic monuments of ancient Greece.
A visit to the Acropolis can take up most of the day, as there is so much to see and explore.
From the Parthenon and the Temple of Athena Nike to the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the Theatre of Dionysus, you’ll be transported back in time to the height of ancient Greek civilization.
After taking a break for a drink or some relaxation time, you can continue your exploration by wandering through the streets of Thissio and Plaka.
These areas are home to a wealth of ancient ruins.

If you’re feeling up to it, you can also visit the nearby neighborhood of Psiri.

DAY 3 – Sunday: Let Your Mind Travel in Time – Part II
Sundays in Athens are a time for rest and relaxation, as locals take the opportunity to recharge their batteries before the start of a new week.
While many Athenians head to the beach during the summer months, there are plenty of things to see and do in and around the city all year round.
One of the must-see attractions is Cape Sounio, a beautiful coastal area located about an hour and a half’s drive from downtown Athens.
Here, you’ll find the Temple of Poseidon, a magnificent ancient monument that offers stunning views of the Aegean Sea.
If you have your own means of transportation, we recommend driving through Athens and along the coast, taking your time to enjoy the scenery.
When you arrive at Cape Sounio, you can spend some time at the beach below the temple, or climb the hill to explore the ancient ruins and take in the breathtaking views.
The Temple of Poseidon remains open until sunset, making it the perfect spot to watch the sun go down over the Aegean Sea.
While many people say that the most magical sunsets can be found in Santorini, we think that the view from this place is superb.
As the day turns into night, the atmosphere at Cape Sounio becomes even more enchanting, as the sky changes its colors and the sun gradually sets into the Aegean Sea.
It’s a truly magical experience that will stay with you for a long time.
After you’ve enjoyed the sunset, it’s time to head back to Athens.
On your way back, you can stop by one of the seaside taverns or cafes for dinner, where you can try some of the delicious seafood dishes that Greece is famous for.
Alternatively, you can head back to the city center, where you’ll find a wide range of restaurants and bars to choose from, catering to every taste and budget.
DAY 4 – Monday: The Modern Athens
On your last day in Athens, take some time to explore the modern side of the city.
Athens is a dynamic and cosmopolitan city, with a thriving art and culture scene, modern architecture, and world-class museums.
One of the best places to start your day is the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
A state-of-the-art complex that houses the National Library of Greece.
