It was back in 2000 when we started getting involved with web design, and development and eventually getting hands-on with the web hosting of all these websites.
During these 20 years that have gone by, we tried more than enough hosting companies, and in late 2007 we started our collaboration with Siteground where we not only brought all our customers and our own websites, but we promoted them as much as we could with NO benefits, affiliations or commission gaining. We believed what we said at the time.
The years went by though and Siteground was getting bigger and impersonal, to say the least. Their customer support level was falling dangerously, and their quality of service was degrading.
After 10+ years of quite an exclusivity with them, we got really tired of “minor”, for some, but very important issues we had to deal with:
- Simple websites (no e-commerce platforms) with like 1000 unique visitors a month were “consuming” all available bandwidth and were unreachable by readers.
- The available disk space was getting close to capacity very often and we could not understand why but when we ended up checking Cpanel, all was caused just because Siteground Tech Support was leaving behind all kinds of unwanted files. Once we discovered that they had left in our hosting all files that they had archived after a migration plus another copy. They said it was just done to be on the safe side. But it took us a very long time to discover what was causing the trouble.
- Migrations were a concern not from another host but just with upgrading or downgrading within their company.
- Uptime was supposedly 99% but it was more than enough times that we could not even access the website and when we contacted their support they claimed that it was our fault because our IP was blocked. (That, I believed initially but then we started thinking that how come our IP is black-listed for our own website and not for other major websites and e-shops…)
- Spam emails were a serious issue. Not only did we receive directly in our inbox to ALL email addresses we had per domain name, hundreds of unwanted marketing and promotional stuff but emails we should receive were ending up in the server spam folder.
All that along with a serious, unforgivable, and extremely “smelly” hacking experience we had, in one of our email addresses (done via Cpanel), that was treated with arrogance by the Siteground support team, made us start looking for alternatives.
We checked several options and asked around a lot. That is when we came across Lyrical Host. Never heard about them before. But no matter where we checked the comments and reviews were above and beyond any kind of expectation for a web hosting company. So we decided to give them a try in August 2019.
Lyrical Host is without any doubt the best web hosting company we have come across in the last 20 years. Do you wonder why?
Because:
- They are offering very personalized service from pre-sales to every single moment thereafter. Have you ever come across such an experience with a hosting company? We haven’t.
- Founders and Owners, Jenni and Joseph, are both reachable to anyone who needs advice or assistance and not just to have a solution on a support ticket.
- They actually care for their customers. They really do. We could not believe it at first but we lived to experience it.
- Their support is out of this world. You can ask them anything. No matter how “foolish” or clever the question or request may be. They will handle everything with patience, understanding, kindness, and sensitivity.
- Migrations are done like magic. They do all the hard work. We just sit around and wait. We migrated 15+ websites and a relevantly large number of emails to Lyrical Host and never had an issue.
- Their hosting pricing model is the fairest of all. No hidden costs and many many inclusions. In addition, we have the option to choose the payment plan that fits us best. (Monthly, 6 Months, Yearly, etc)
- Domain names are available at a much better rate than through other hosting companies.
- Their Customer Control Panel is a dream. It is designed with care and even non-tech individuals can easily manage it.
Other than that, we can confirm as well that:
- Spam emails seem to have disappeared. Especially from unknown and unwanted sources.
- Uptime is real uptime.
- Non-tech people are more than welcome as customers at Lyrical Host and are treated with amazing respect, cordiality, and gentleness.
We hope and wish them, all the best of the best.
