We love Rome and its history. It is the Eternal City after all! But we also love relaxation and shopping and this is what our Rome for 4 days and 3 nights is all about.
Day 1
Assuming that your arrival will be in the early afternoon we strongly recommend a quick check-in at your hotel.
And then off you go for a long walk exploring and enjoying the beauties of Piazza Venezia and Piazza Navona.
Even though it seems that they are quite far apart and unless you dislike walking then we are quite confident that you will enjoy the ride since there is so much to see in between.
Piazza Navona could win you over as it did with us and here is where we recommend you stop to enjoy your dinner.
There are plenty of wonderful places that you can choose from.
Day 2
Dedicated to the Vatican and Colosseum!
Our choice is a morning tour to enjoy the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica where you can be guided by a professional through Papal treasures.
Learn about the Sistine Chapel and admire its “Creation of Adam”.
See the Raphael Rooms and learn about the School of Athens…
Admire renowned sculptures and masterpieces of Renaissance art and paintings by Raphael, Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, and Michelangelo!
And then on to the Colosseum.Rome’s most famous monument.
Learn some of the rich histories of the landmark itself and Ancient Rome.
Colosseum is standing since the 1st century, surviving earthquakes and stone robbers.
This landmark could hold over 50,000 spectators who watched gladiator contests and other spectacles.
Visit the arena floor of this monument, which is listed as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Head to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill!
Day 3
Dedicated to fun, shopping, sightseeing, and history of course!
At a lazy pace start your day with a visit to the Pantheon which is one of the most important buildings in the history of European architecture.
The Temple of All Gods enchants all visitors.
Moving onwards a stop at Fontana di Trevi, (Trevi Fountain) is a must where you will admire the magnificent work depicting Neptune between two Tritons.
Toss your coin and make a wish and take some pictures. All a must.
And now lovers of shopping time have come to walk towards Piazza di Spagna.
A vibrant area and undoubtedly a shoppers’ paradise. Stop at Spanish Steps (Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti) and take some photos.
Your Instagram followers will love them.
And then walk towards Via Dei Condotti for some of Italy’s most prestigious fashion brands or go to Via del Corso for more shopping of all kinds of brands.
At any point that you feel you are ready for a break you just look around and choose what suits your mood the most.
You will find anything and everything you may desire.
When you feel that you are done with shopping for the day, we recommend that you walk a few hundred meters towards Piazza del Popolo.
Another beautiful piazza of Rome, where you will find great places for aperitifs and if you like visiting churches then here you will find some of the most impressive ones.
Day 4:
Depending on when your flight takes off and if you have just over 4 hours to spare, we do recommend a guided tour of Borghese Gallery and Gardens.
