One of the highlights for the travellers to Mykonos has always been Peter the Pelican. The locals and the regulars know him as Petros of course which is the Greek translations of Peter.
Some of us and you are fortunate enough to see him walking in the narrow alleys and others no matter how hard they look for him do not seem to enjoy the same luck. Who knows why. Maybe he has his own preferences. Or as the locals say, Petros avoids the chaos and the noise and always tries to stay “hidden” in his favourite spots for the most part of the peak season. Well… not really true since we have seen him wandering around even in the middle of August!
Luckily enough we had the absolute pleasure to visit Mykonos during the winter months and being a definite off-season period, we had the honour to watch Petros not only wandering through the meandering narrow streets but bragging that Mykonos was his with a paraded at the seaside promenade. The greatest surprise for all was that he stood and pose for a photoshoot like any model would do. We guess living in Mykonos has taught him a lot of things…
This is what we definitely call a real celebrity!
But Mykonos has also Fraskoula and Zanis!!!
