Bread
For lovers of bread and easy recipes to make at home without fear of the kitchen mess.
Ingredients
- 1 kg All-Purpose Flour
- 8 gr of Dried Yeast
- 2 Teaspoons of Salt or Salt to taste
- 1 Teaspoon of Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons of Virgin Olive Oil
- 500 ml of Lukewarm Water
- Virgin Olive Oil for the baking pan
Instructions
PREPARATION OF THE DOUGH
- In a large bowl add the flour, the yeast, the salt and the sugar and stir them well with a beater or a wooden spoon till the mix.
- Make a hole in the middle and start adding the water slowly while working the mix with your hand till it becomes a nice soft dough.
- Add the olive oil and work the dough with both hands for about 10 minutes till it feels light and airy and does not stick to your hands and fingers.
RESTING TIME
Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or clean film and let it rest in a warm corner of your kitchen for 4 to 5 hours
BAKING TIME
- Preheat your oven at 230oC
- Use a brush to spread virgin olive oil all over the baking pan
- Place the dough in the baking pan
- Take a sharp knife and do 3 - 4 cuts on the top part of the dough
- Sprinkle the dough with a little bit of water and place it in the oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
Notes
If you want your bread to be soft, wrap it in a cotton tablecloth as soon as you take it out of the oven and let it rest for a few hours.
